Supporting our Communities in the Wake of Hurricane Helene

As we navigate the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene, our hearts go out to our team members, customers, and communities who have experienced historic and catastrophic flooding and heavy winds, resulting in the loss of loved ones, and left millions without power and access to everyday essentials.

United is committed to supporting our communities across the Carolinas to help them recover as quickly as possible:

  • Overdraft and ATM fees will be refunded automatically for any customer in a FEMA Declared Disaster county and CDs can be accessed without penalties.
  • Payment deferrals of 90 days will be made available until Nov. 1 to impacted customers upon request.
  • We have set up donation collection sites at three Bank branchesCharlotte SouthPark; Raleigh; and Cayce – which will be open through next Thursday, Oct. 10. Customers or employees who wish to participate are welcome to drop off items directly or order through an Amazon wish list. Employees will transport items to collection sites serving the hardest hit areas of Rutherford, NC; Catawba, NC; and Greenville, SC counties.
  • United is contributing monetary donations directly to organizations to meet immediate disaster response needs through a number of local partners in the impacted counties.

In the coming months, we will explore additional ways to support customers through the long recovery.
