Community Leaders and Supporters Come Together to Help Local Children and Families
Washington, D.C. – United Bank was proud to host its 22nd annual Charity Classic golf tournament in support of Inova Kellar Center, which has provided behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families for more than 30 years. This year’s event generated a record $401,767, marking a lifetime total of over $8 million in funds raised.
“Making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve is at the core of what we do, and the continued generosity of our community inspires us,” said Mike Proctor, Chief Commercial Banking Officer, United Bank. “We are grateful for Inova Kellar Center’s efforts to provide comprehensive, critical programs that support the health and well-being of local families in need. Their work is life-changing and helps to ensure a brighter future for us all.”
Inova Kellar Center’s comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs and innovative special education school support families throughout Northern Virginia. Proceeds from the Classic provide funding that enables Inova Kellar Center to expand clinical services, finance critical staff positions, and provide financial support to children and families who may not have the resources to obtain treatment.
"We are immensely grateful to United Bank and the incredible donors of the United Bank Charity Classic for their unwavering partnership and support in enhancing Inova Kellar Center’s ability to provide world-class mental health and substance use disorder treatment to children and families in our community,” said Rick Leichtweis, PhD, Executive Director, Inova Kellar Center.
This year’s Classic brought together a distinguished group of corporate and community leaders, attracting hundreds of business and community supporters, as well as 140 golfers to the Country Club of Fairfax on Oct. 7. Premier sponsors and donors included Claude Moore Charitable Foundation; United Bank; William A.
