RIPLEY, WV – United Bank has named Jamie White as the new branch manager of its Ripley Main location.

A lifelong West Virginia resident, White graduated from Wahama Junior/Senior High School before beginning her banking career at United in 2019 while attending community college. As a part-time sales associate, White was responsible for handling deposits and withdrawals, processing payments, and advising customers about banking products. She then accepted a full-time position as a sales and service representative, where she was able to expand her banking knowledge and deepen relationships with customers. Following her exceptional performance, White was selected for United’s Step-Up Program, a career development program specifically designed for high-performing retail employees across the Bank’s footprint. This year, she was tapped for a branch manager opening at the Bank’s Ripley location.

“At United, we are highly invested in the career development and success of our employees,” said Kerry Casto, City Executive, United Bank. “It has been a privilege to witness Jamie’s growth as she’s built a career here at the Bank and established herself as a local business leader. She has proven herself a valuable asset to United, and we have no doubt that she will continue to do great things leading the team here in Ripley.”

As branch manager, White is responsible for identifying qualified prospects for new business relationships and strengthening relationships with existing customers, managing and coaching branch sales staff, serving as the in-branch point of contact for regional sales managers and human resources, and delivering quality customer care to all branch customers.

“I never imagined I would be a branch manager, considering I started my career at United with no prior banking experience,” said White. “I am so thankful for United, the community, and the customers here in Ripley; we wouldn’t be here without their business. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve them, getting more involved, and letting people know what United is all about.”

Community service is a big priority for White. She and her branch staff regularly participate in bank-wide and market-wide volunteering initiatives benefitting the local Ripley community. She also actively seeks volunteer opportunities in her local community. She currently volunteers with the Genevieve Starcher Foundation, an organization that awards scholarships to residents of Jackson County, and hopes to hold a leadership role in the future.
